It is very important for a person with hypothyroid condition to know what not eat especially during breakfast as this meal is very important for the growth and metabolism process in our bodies. It is therefore very important to choose the right hypothyroid diet plan.

Most foods and drinks consumed in the morning affect the function of the thyroid gland. Having a real meal that is healthy as opposed to just taking tea or coffee is crucial when one is suffering from this disorder.

You've been fasting since dinner the night before.

If you think about it, you most likely haven't eaten in 12 hours. This is a form of fasting, and fasting can lower thyroid hormone. So, it's crucial you eat a 'real' meal before you start your day. I say 'real' meal because a lot of people start their day with a scone and a cup of coffee, this is NOT a meal, this is a treat.

However most people are not aware of this and end up not having breakfast but give more value to lunch and dinner.

Apart from weight gain another symptom or sign that one is has this disorder is body weakness hence the need to eat food that boost your energy.

Food that contains carbohydrates like pasta and some cereals are good as they will boost your energy levels.

The diet should also be rich in fiber to help the patient maintain proper weight. Examples include bread and brown rice among others.

Here are some mistakes to avoid when making your fruit smoothie...

Don't add fruit juice. Don't forget to add fat and protein. Don't use goitrogenic fruits/veggies (food sources that inhibit the absorption of iodine). Don't add too many high glycemic fruits (fruits high in sugar).

People with this disorder should take their nutritional plans very seriously especially breakfast. Foods with carbohydrates will boost your energy levels.

Eating right is one way of reducing the symptoms and signs of this condition it also ensure that metabolism is boosted in your body hence easy and quick absorption of food in the body.

Instead of eating fatty meat like bacon and hamburger during breakfast go for healthier protein food.

Fatty meals will have a negative impact on your body for example they may lead to inflammation of the body system, high blood pressure and high levels of cholesterol in the body.

The avocado provides good fat and fiber, this will keep you full. However, you can use coconut or coconut oil, or another source of fat.

Finally, the whey provides the protein, but you can get protein from vegetarian protein powders, just avoid soy, it's not good for your thyroid.

Take your medication with water instead of juice for it to work properly. Do not include soybeans in your meals as it slows up the function of your medication.

A healthy nutritional plan and regular exercises will help you check on the signs and symptoms of hypothyroidism since it does not have a permanent cure.

It also important to take water especially when taking your medication instead of taking juice or soft drinks like soda.
