With everybody looking for quick fix solutions to their fitness goals, it's no surprise that one of Youtube's most searched queries last month was how to get a six pack in 3 minutes each day. Silly as it may sound, however, this is entirely possible to do providing you lay down some solid ground rules first.
Undoubtedly the most popular questions in most gyms around the world would include such things as what supplements should you use to build muscle, should women lift weights and finally how do you tone your midsection... As we continue to research new training methods and discover the benefits offered by exercise classes, yoga, CrossFit and other styles of training, it is becoming increasingly popular to throw away the old adage of spending hours doing countless sit-ups in the hope of developing a leaner midsection.
First of all, drop the old method of training if you want quick results. You do not need to spend countless hours doing crunches and sit-ups. Your body will adapt to it and then make the process even harder for you, so stop that right now. Secondly, you will need to get your diet in check and put in some cardio work, preferably high intensity interval training, if you are to get your body fat levels down to a level which allows you to see your abdominal muscles clearly. Don't spend all your time in the gym strengthening the muscles if you need to shed the layers of fat which are hiding them, it's about balancing your priorities.
Developing your midsection becomes a whole lot easier when you get those two things in place first. Rather than doing endless sit-ups, you'll be amazed at what you can achieve in very little time.
Now for the part most people get stuck at. How do you tone the muscles effectively in as little time as possible?
First of all, don't be fooled by the short workout time. Three minutes or five minutes might seem relatively short, particularly if you are used to working your abs via long sets on machines in your local gym. However, it's what you do in the time that determines your end result. Try to keep each exercise at a very high intensity.
By combining three core moves into a short but very intense circuit you'll be able to enjoy fantastic results in a fraction of the time it usually takes. High intensity is the key, so spend around 30 seconds on one exercise before transitioning to the next with no rest in between. Two rounds of this type of circuit would take three minutes in total.
When it comes to exercises here you can get a little bit creative and build something which you really enjoy performing. If you want a quick example, however, we recommend using Mountain Climbers, Crunches and the Plank.
If you keep your workout equipment free it means you can literally fit it into your day whenever and wherever you want, eliminating the chance of skipping a session.
So the next time you hear somebody at your local gym wondering should women use weights, or trying to get through the hype on the latest supplement, remember today's post where you discovered how to get a six pack in 3 minutes each day. While the fitness industry can be confusing for many people, the facts are easy to understand when you clear away all of the hype and confusion.
