A lot of people these days are conscious about their health and fitness. People often go to the gym to exercise and sweat it all out. Your home makes a good place to do your routines. The environment is more familiar and you are free to do whatever you want. It is a good idea to stay at home especially if you are the type who prefers to be alone. Whether you have exercise equipment or not, the important part is that you are disciplined to do this until you reach your goals.

One kind of exercise you can do is a push up. This one is an oldie but a goodie. You can exercise your arms and muscles by a few on the floor depending on how much your body is capable of. The intensity can be modified by changing hand placements on the floor. There is also the bent knee push up which is a good option if the full push up is hard for you.

Crunches are also pretty common. This is the right exercise to do if you want to strengthen your abdominal muscles. You need not hurry about being able to get your head up. The key is to take time until your muscles begin to stretch. You can also do supine reverse crunch which targets your core region. Be careful with your back on this one.

Squat jumps are good for whole body exercise. Doing this will allow you to exercise your buttocks, legs, and knees. Total body movement would be involved when you jump and down and lower your buttocks repeatedly. If you prefer to exercise your legs, you can do forward lunges which focus more on your legs.

Walking is also an exercise that just happens naturally. You may not know it but you are already doing exercise when you walk. For this one, you may simply walk around the house or up and down the stairs. You could also jog in place while listening to music or watching a favorite TV show.

If you have a set of equipment for personal use, now is a good time to let them out. You can also buy some equipment that can be used at home. Some commonly personal exercise equipment are dumbbells and treadmills. Dumbbells are used to increase muscle strength. A treadmill also lets you run in place for several minutes.

Nowadays, you can also use exercise videos which can guide you in performing some routines. Exercise DVDs are quite popular these days. You can easily follow along with the instructor on screen. Videos can also be found online coming from various sources. You may choose a routine that is easy for you.

It would be better if you get to start with in home workouts earlier. This will give you a good start and more time to do your routines. You will have more time for improvements along the way. When you do regular exercises, it is best to combine this with healthy eating as well. It is also necessary to make some lifestyle changes to keep yourself fit and in good shape.
