There are still individuals who wonder how others can like this sport when it is actually scripted. Most of them are correct. Still, this is the reason why fans are attracted to this sport. Fans are entertained because there is something that fighters need to fight for. Boxers or mixed martial artists usually fight for money or to show how good they are compared to other fighters.

This exercise is not scripted or fake all the time. In the 1800's, this was performed in carnivals especially in traveling shows. Tiny towns are visited by participants to fight with one another or with the participants in the locality. Then they make their bets.

Of course, majority of the townspeople would bet on their preferred wrestler. Better wrestlers are hired by the promoters at the time to make sure that they have backgrounds in this sport. Hookers is the term used describe these wrestlers because they are capable of applying hook holds easily such as other victory conditions and the sport's submission holds.

Individuals are not made aware about the hookers so that they will bet on their favorite local fighter and this is something that is shown in the history of professional wrestling. Of course, the local fighter will end up being defeated by the hooker. Even if the fight was not technically scripted, the outcome has already been predetermined.
