In the present era people are living longer than ever and trying to stay healthier because of this. Who wants to be 60 years old and not be able to go outside and do a little yard work. While it is true that basic in home workouts will not help you build massive amounts of muscle, they will help you stay fit and stay healthy longer.

Staying fit is an essential part of staying healthy. Part of this is implementing an overall exercise program into your routine. Their is a ton of misinformation regarding about exercise by different books, people who want to get rich and the media, There are several different things people can do which do not involve weights or expensive machines. Lets look at a few simple exercises which everyone could do to help stay healthy and live longer.

Everyone who spent at least a few weeks in school knows the side straddle hop. More commonly called jumping jacks, they are a great way to raise your heart rate and burn off some calories. A set of 25 is good for warming up and stretching your muscles before doing other more strenuous exercises.

Push-ups are also a common way to begin strengthening your back, arms, legs and abbs. There are various different forms anyone may use. There is the bent knee, the straight back, the plank and the one armed. It is vital to use proper form when your are doing them. A set of ten placed between other difficult exercises is a fine way to begin. If you have any difficulties, try standing against the wall and carefully push away from it starting out.

Leg lifts and crunches can also be a way to tone your abbs and legs. A set of twenty is a good starting point. If you experience problems with lifting your legs straight, try to bending your legs slightly. Ideally a crunch is different from a sit up, it is done by lifting your body a little from the floor. Always practice good form, and maintain a straight back.

Jogging in place can be a good exercise which anyone and do almost any time or anywhere. It is also great for your body, heart and mind. You can start doing this for about 10 minutes while you are watching television, or listing to your radio.

Believe it or not dancing is a wonderful way to burn off some extra weight and raise your heart rate. While most of us are probability not that good, that is not important. What is important is that you move around. Remember you are in the privacy of your own home and no one can see you.

No in home workouts are really that challenging to do. What it really comes down to is someone setting aside half an hour every day to do these exercises that could make you feel much better for many years to follow. Anyone can find time for Staying healthy, whether its in the morning, afternoon, or before you go to bed at night.
