Dance team uniforms allow the group to stand out in the crowd. Available in a variety of styles, designs and colors, the only thing that will top the uniform is the routine. Depending on the supply company, men and women may be able to order similar uniforms.

When selecting an outfit, it is important to consider the style of dancers. Dancewear is available in leotards, half shirts, whole shirts, skirts, pants and shorts. The combination depends on the routine. Most modern dances require the dancer to be flexible. Because of this, most team members wear a two-piece set. This allows the person to flip, twist and perform all moves without restriction.

Weather has a major impact on the performance. Although cold weather does not stop the performance, it may slow the dancer's moves. To help with this, the dancer may wear pants that match the costume. Flesh-colored tights are another option. The tights will keep their legs warm without taking away from the look of the costume. Shell tops and other long sleeve tops are available to help keep the arms warm.

In recent times, most groups are composed of men and women. Because men and women are shaped differently, it is difficult to find identical customers. Unless it is a unisex costume, there will be a little variation with it. Generally, to solve this problem, the man would wear like colored bottoms and a top with the group's colors. This allows the man to clothe himself appropriately while having the freedom to move as he should.

When selecting the performance wear, the dancer should select matching accessories at the same time. Although they are considered decorative pieces, they should not hinder the dancer's performance. Many women like to wear matching socks or hair ties. The hair ties allow her to keep her hair out of her face without causing a distraction. Shoes are also considered accessories. Many companies sell dance-specific shoes. This type of shoe is lightweight and provides the dancer with proper foot and ankle support. The proper support helps to cut back the risk of an injury.

A warm-up suit is the most popular type of accessory. Other than wearing them during practice runs, the warm-up set may be worn during an outing. This helps to keep track of all team members as well as show a sign of unity among the group. The typical outfit is made up of jogging or stretch pants and a jacket. The bottom will have the group's name. The jacket may have the group member's name in addition to the team name on back.

In an effort to extend the life of the uniform, it is important to follow manufacturer's care directions. Because many costumes are made with glitter, sequences, beads and other decorations, it is necessary to turn the outfit inside out before washing. Depending on the care instructions, the outfit may need to dry flat or line dry.

The dance team uniforms are equally as important as the routine. A person who does not have confidence in their appearance will not perform well. Because the dancers may wear different sizes, it is important to select the style that is proper for the person's body type.
